Stewart Creek

Located on 30 beautiful acres outside of Clatskanie, Oregon, Stewart Creek is a dream come true for Kat and Rick Katterman, owners of Course-Walkers.

There are two main barns, the smaller of the two has a few stalls, hay storage, tack and feed room, shop, bathroom, laundry and heated water for washing horses.  The larger has a row of 12x12 stalls and a covered arena that is 60'x96'.  Behind the main barn is a all-weather sacrifice area.

Outside we have a 100'x150' turf outdoor arena, plenty of space for pasture where our horses spend most of their time.  The view is gorgeous and also houses the beginnings of a multi-level cross-country course as well as a variety of obstacles designed to challenge both horse and handler, many which have been built by our students.

In addition to all of that, there is access directly off property to many miles of maintained trails, both easy and more challenging with dirt tracks, logging roads, open areas, dense woods and creek crossings.  Wildlife abounds and we regularly see owls, deer and elk.  With different length loops, a trail ride can last 20 minutes or 3 hours, and are all interconnected.

Course-Walkers continues to improve their property with plans for cross-fencing, galloping track, more cross-country jumps, new covered arena footing, additional trails and the continued growth of the orchard and garden, as well as the inclusion of a chicken coop next spring.

If you have never been here, welcome.  If you have before, welcome back!  Things are always changing and growing, so don't wait too long to visit again.
